Valerie M. Antonette is an associate at Farrell, Reisinger & Stallings, LLC. Ms. Antonette's practice focuses primarily on criminal defense, sports law and complex civil litigation.

Her federal criminal practice ranges from pre-indictment investigations and negotiations and the representation of witnesses and victims, to appeals and post-conviction petitions, to white collar matters such as health care fraud and tax evasion. She also handles all types of state criminal matters.

Ms. Antonette's sports law practice includes representation of professional athletes and certified agents in salary arbitration proceedings, contract analysis and grievance proceedings. Her practice involves the representation of athletes in performance enhancing substance/drug appeals and other disciplinary matters in MLB, the NFL, the NHL, and the NBA.

In 2008, Ms. Antonette assisted in the representation of New York Yankees pitcher Andy Pettitte before the U.S. House of Representatives Committee's investigation of Roger Clemens and Brian McNamee. In 2005, she assisted in the representation of Sammy Sosa during the U.S. House of Representatives Committee's Congressional Hearings on steroid use in Major League Baseball.

Ms. Antonette has experience in handling commercial litigation matters for multi-national and local corporations and individuals in federal and state courts. Her practice includes the prosecution and defense of civil rights litigation, commercial fraud litigation, corporate compliance and internal investigations and the prosecution of qui tam or whistleblower claims in connection with government contracts.

Ms. Antonette received her J.D. from Duquesne University School of Law in 2004 where she was a member of the National Trial Moot Court Team and was named to the Order of the Barristers. She received her B.A., magna cum laude, in Sociology from Mesa State College in 2001.

Ms. Antonette is active in the Pennsylvania Bar Association where she is the At Large Zone Chair for the Young Lawyers Executive Council. She is a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association and is an Executive Council member of the Criminal Litigation Section. She is also the Programming Chair of the American Inns of Court, Pittsburgh Chapter. She is also a member of the American Bar Association. Her application for certification as a Player-Agent with the Major League Baseball Players Association is currently pending.
